I’m considering buying a ryzen 7 2700 and I am wondering about how much MHz should my ram have. The system memory specs is 2933MHz on the amd website and is this related to how much MHz my ram should have? Plz help

go for 3000 or 3200. when you buy ram, what's advertised is the rated speed - that means it has been tested to work at that speed. but any ram kit can be run at any speed between 2133 and it's rated speed. so you can get a 3200 kit, see if it works at 3200, if not, downclock to 3000, 2933 etc.

I think 3200 CL 16 will do you fine. They don't cost too much either. Just remember to look up the memory in the motherboards QVL before you buy to make sure it's compatible to run at the speed you want to get.

I concur with ADoomGuy. I personally have 32GB of 3200 CL16 RAM myself and combined with my 8700K and 2080 Ti it’s more than enough. Also remember most RAM will give you some overclocking headroom. I have mine OC’ed to 3600 but your mileage may vary. Then again I have higher end Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB which is meant to be overclocked so yours might or might not go that high.
