Using the first person PC build and Anthony's no dollar wasted build as guides, I managed to build my first PC a few days ago.

I used the Ryzen 5 3600. But the stock cooler makes this annoying sound twice a minute after the PC has been on for longer than 15 minutes:

You can hear the "whining" around 4 seconds into the recording and it ramps up around 11 seconds. Is this normal? If not, do you have any ideas on how to fix this? Or a recommendation for replacement.

Are you sure it's from the stock fan and not somewhere else in the system?

What are system temps and fan rpm at?

@WoodenMarker You are actually right. You helped me a ton. I sat down and analyzed the temperatures and fans, they were not related to the noise at all. No correlation whatsoever. It's the PSU. The PSU makes this noise. It's 550W Sharkoon WPM Gold ZERO 80 Plus. Paid a bit extra for the "ZERO" feature, meaning it does not spin up if not necessary, but the noise comes off when it stars to spin up and when it spins down. Going to contact the retailer tomorrow. Thank you very much.

I would say that it is an issue with the PSU then (probably a bad fan bearing), contact the manufacturer to see if they will RMA the unit. Although, I don't think that it is a good power supply (could be wrong on this, if I am please correct me, although I have never heard of a brand named Sharkoon, although the 80+ certification is at least somewhat reassuring that the unit is not completely terrible).

Hope this information post was helpful  ?,
