Data cuts off during calls

So I use my mobile hotspot for gaming but every time I get a call on my phone the data instantly cuts off and I get disconnected from matches is there any solution to this?

I imagine you are gaming in your phone and then getting a call. Not sure why hotspot is involved

Well it doesn't happen to most of friends devices I don't know what I am doing different

Just to clarify. It doesnt cut off, it slows down by a fair amount to a lot. It has happened to all the devices i've had.

I know it's supposed to switch to 3g bandwidth for data reserving 4g for the call but it just straight up cuts the data stream

I wouldn't care if just made it slow and I had to end the call to continue

But just receiving a call kicks me out in any online game

It doesn't happen if I use my dad's phone

Not every carrier nor device for that matter will support both voice and data at the same time, which is the problem you're running in to it seems. Happened to me as well, I'd be on a call and try to Google something in the background but kept getting a network connectivity error. When the call ended my data returned instantly. It will also depend on the kind of signal you're on, as older tech (2G for example) cannot support both no matter who is the provider. 

 

What kind of phone do you have? Are you in the US? What carrier are you with?
