Hey guys!

What I'm about to ask may be ambitious, but anyway.

I'm wanting to set up a library to put all my films on to save having to mess around changing discs etc. I've read into the plex server, and although it has it's benefits, It seems to offer more than what I want.

I just want to have my HDD running on my TV but have a nice interface with some way of sorting through films (Search my genre etc)

Now obviously an external HDD has no processing power etc, so I assume the software would need to run off something. So lets say if I had it always plugged into an xbox which I'll be using as an all in one media box, is there anything that can be used to make a nice interface, like a netflix or even a plex style interface.

So my thinking would be download software on the PC, sort out my folders how I'd want them etc and then dump it on the HDD to use elsewhere

Thanks

Seems like you are asking two different software. One to use for watching purposes (netflix/plex) and another to sort/arrange on file/folder level (I would recommend using photo managers, 'cause they recognize video files too).

There was thread not too long ago listing different options.

Thats one, but not what I'm looking for.

This has many suggestions.
