Would it matter what class i play to what ship i get?

You don't really play as classes, you can choose how you want to play, e.g. pirate or explorer

If that's what you mean then no,  but some ships are better for different things

I don't think there really is a class system. Just different ships you can use.

Current rig: CPU: AMD FX-8120  Cooling: Corsair H100i  Mobo: ASRock 970 Extreme 3  RAM: 8GB 1333Mhz  GPU: MSI GTX 660Ti Power Edition  Case: Fractal Design Define R4  Storage: 2TB Seagate HDD + 128GB Crucial SSD  PSU: be quiet! 730W bronze

I was thinking of doing pirating, although going in as a military ship and destroying a pirate base with 5-10 other people would also be fun. Would the aurora LN be the best all around ship for any play style?

Yes pretty much for the money

If you wanted best all round you could put lots more money in and then get a constellation, but an aurora would probably be best for you

i more meant class as in playstyle

I want to point out a few things:

1. The game is being released in 2015. There is so much that could change between then and now that these questions should probably be asked later, not now.

2. This isn't a typical RPG. It's going to be nothing like WoW or any other MMO anyone has ever played before. It's aim is for realism.

3. The ship you buy isn't the only one you can get. You can buy these ships in game for in game money (not real money) once the game is going, and though that could change, I completely doubt it will.

Ask again in 6-8 months.

... Pretty sure comparing Euro Truck to Star Citizen is going to be like comparing Vanilla Minecraft to Civilization V, Deity mode.

Probably not. Might take a bit of grinding, but you plan on being a pirate. Just steal them.

i was meaning i'm used to pure realism

i assume i'd be a pirate, i'm not sure what i'd want to be

Ah, then that makes more sense.

I don't know. How long does it take a thief to get a car? How about a lower middle class worker? That's how hard it will be to get certain ships in game.

alright. I've been doing research and i might be intertested in being a transporter (of sorts). Say, if your in a constellation carrying valuable cargo you would hire me to protect you, I would also like to ask would it be playable without a joystick?

1. No it will not have a subscription. It will have in-game insurance for ships which you pay for with a small portion of your in-game currency.

2. On most packages you get both games (Squadron 42 and Star Citizen) however, read the fine print/ details. Packages under $40 don't include the games, nor does the Cutlass package.

3:

Avenger if you like long range combat with good protection and high speed but with lower manouverability.

Origin 325a if you like medium range fighting with impressive firepower and mediocre manouverability, protection and speed.

Or the Hornet package if you like to get all up in people's faces (short range) with an all-round good ship with short range guns but with virtually no room for cargo.

If combat is not your thing, I recommend the Avenger as it has the best cargo space of the fighters, has the best protection, and the highest straight-line speed to get from A to B. If you want to save as much money as possible, an Aurora will be a decent Avenger substitute, though less protection, acceleration and weaponry.

If you want something a little larger, the Freelancer is a great merchant runner with twice the cargo space of the best-hauling fighters and also is very speedy from A to B. The Constellation is everything but better - and is even more manouverable than the Freelancer - but is expensive and will cost more to run in fuel and renting crew to man turrets and the on board snub fighter. It is not going to be a good starting ship unless you buy currency in the pre-launch cash store for fuel and crew fare, or have another ship to sell in-game once it's live.

I do not recommend the Cutlass package as it does not include the game nor alpha/ beta.

In case the moderators do not ban me as requested, this is a notice that I have left and am not coming back.

Glad it helped, also I forgot one:

Origin 315p if you want to have versatile means to make money without spending over $100. Since it can both explore new space (which means maps for you to sell) as well as carry up to 8 tonnes of cargo, which is almost Avenger-sized. It has extremely weak fire power though, but probably the most fuel-efficient standard engine in the game in the beginning, which means you can stay in space for extended periods, and always avoid danger by skirting around to areas fighters and pirates in small ships can't reach.

In case the moderators do not ban me as requested, this is a notice that I have left and am not coming back.

I'd rather have more firepower than cargo. I love my combat
