Good day!

I recently built a new system back in March, jumping ship from Intel to AMD. I am not doing any kind of overclocking and DHCP is enabled. Every single time I have a Windows update, or have to install or update any drivers that require a reboot, my system will post in safe mode. In order to get Windows to load up, I have to go into my UEFI settings each time and hit "Discard changes and reset." Windows will then give me a boot error 0000098 each time, which then requires me to boot with advanced options - boot in UEFI mode again, then "Discard changes and reset" again just for Windows to finally boot up normally. I have attempted to correct the boot error using elevated cmd prompt, running all of the dsk cmds. I've attempted to fix my boot sector similarly, with it saying "Operation was completed successfully."

I have had my PC complete freeze up once or twice while playing Warzone, requiring me to do a hard reset. Once, I failed to post or even see the BIOS, found my MOBO with a Q Code 12. Reseated my RAM and my computer booted up normal. Today, Windows updated A-volute to version 1.7.2.0 and my computer is now posting in safe mode every single time I reboot, making me repeat the convoluted process I mentioned above, each time just to get into Windows. I've seen similar issues posted on the ROG forums, a lot of it looking like a BIOS stability issue. I'm honestly at my limit though and have no idea what else I can do short of trying new RAM.

Here are my specs:

Mobo: ROG Crosshair Hero VIII (WIFI)

CPU: Ryzen 3900x

RAM: 32 GB (16 x 2) HyperX Fury 3600 Mhz CL17

GPU: ROG Strix 1080 Ti OC Edition

PSU: EVGA Supernova 850 G5

OS: Windows 10 Build 18363

Boot Drive: Samsung 850 Evo 1 TB  SATA SSD

Storage Drives: Western Digital Blue 1 TB NVME SSD, Samsung 960 Evo 1 TB NVME SSD

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Yes, updated to BIOS version 1302.

Have you done a complete reinstall of windows? that's the nuclear option, but it should fix it.

I did the "Reset this PC" option and had it wipe everything.

Try it again with new install media.

the "Reset this PC" will still keep the underlying base OS and therefore will keep any bugs or corruption.

Are there any other options you can think of? I have a slow 6 meg connection and redownloading every game, etc, is going to take me a business week.
