I have a rosewill 1000w 80 plus gold  power supply it's going on 4 years old. all of a sudden my computer just started shutting off. I didn't know what was causing the problem. I went through and reseeded everything and it worked again then it kept doing it. So i decided to pull the power supply and I found out the plug on the power supply  (modular plug wired side) that goes to my cpu motherboard power connectors melted. My question is it worth only to replace the melted cord and plug it into another port because i have extra ports on the power supply or should i replace the whole power supply? it's still all works when it wants to.

can you tell if the pins were not seated all of the way.  If it was just a loose connection, then just replace the mb power cord.  You can always check the power going to the pins.  I have had molex connections do the same thing.  Wires not making good contact will do that, melt and even start a fire.  Cool eh?!

I would replace the who PSU because if the PSU is faulty it could damage parts and then it would be an even more costly repair.

A good PSU would shut off the PC before this kind of thing would happen.

Maybe contact rosewill and ask them if they will replace your PSU? Fire/melting is something they take seriously.

No, it wouldn't, PSU doesn't know if it's connectors are overheating lol. In 90% cases if connector melts it's either very cheap PSU with shit connectors or it's user error, i.e they powered too much stuff from it, in general, if your GPU needs more than one 8-pin connector you're supposed to use two cables, except for some PSUs that have PCIe connectors with more pins (and wires) on the PSU end that can support increased current.

sorry it took so long to right back. i contacted Rosewill and they sent me out a new power supply for free even though my power supply was out of warranty. they sent me Rosewill Full-Modular Gaming Power Supply (80 PLUS TITANIUM Certified) - TOKAMAK 1200W which is a $650 power supply.

Oh, that weird thing ... It's fine if it's like free i suppose but i'd recommend to sell it (especially since it's new) and buy a good well reviewed 550\650W PSU supposing you don't need so much wattage. What's your PC specs ?
