Wondering if a EVGA GTX 480 is dead?
Hello, I was wondering my friend lend me his GTX 480 to test it out because it was having problems and wouldn't work after installing the drivers.
It boots okay with no problems but when I get to the login screen I get a bunch of dots and lines all over the screen.
I tried to install the drivers but when the screen goes black to change the res to 1080p it doesn't come back. It stays black... I can still hear windows sounds but I get no image.
We even tested it on other rigs and it does the same.
I was wondering if is something fixable or do I just declare it dead? Help me techtips forums you're my only hope hahah .

Once you've exhausted all attempts and if it no longer carries a warranty, blame it for all your problems in life, tell it a few lies, get it nice and nekked and throw it in for 10 mins @ 390f
cool for 1 hour, dress it up again and throw it in the thing and try to post
A) Successful post? cool
B) ):
In the event of scenario B, repeat the process at 405f, allowing more time to cool.
C) Still not working as intended? Well they make fine wall ornaments and cup holders.
