I have a RTX 2080, i9-9900k @ 3.60Ghz and 16GBs of ram and my friend has a GTX 1070, i7 @ 3.2Ghz and 16GBs of ram and he gets more frames in games then I do. In Modern Warfare (2019) he gets 100-110 frames with medium settings and I get 60-80 on everything low 1080p and turned off in warzone. So I think something is wrong with my PC or I have done something wrong I don't know I just need help because when I first got my PC it could play games at high frame rates but not anymore, I've had it for almost a year.I play all games at 1920x1080 144hz. My windows and all my drivers are up to date and I have obviously tried restarting my PC. its not a cooling issue either, I have water cooling and 4 case fans, I played a full game of OW and my CPU temp was 70C. if you can't help could you tell me were I might be able to get help because I have posted on reddit and tried posting in discords and nothing yet. I tried reinstalling windows and updating my bios as well and nothing.

So if it was speedy but isn’t anymore something changed on your system.  I get the impression you haven’t touched the hardware so it’s possible it’s software related somehow.  One blind option is to update all software (bios/drivers/OS) and see what happens.  There will likely be finer grained (and likely better) suggestions though

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

if your pc performs well in a cpu stress test, it might be that your graphics card has aproblem.

We’re any hardware changes made? What do your use percentages and thermals look like?

CPU is 15-25%, RAM is 50% and GPU is 50-90% in the middle of a game of overwatch, my GPU temp was 40C idk about my CPUs temp

Wow.  Those are all low, except for the gpu.  90% is up there.  Your gpu is pretty strong iirc.  I wonder if there’s anything running on it besides the game.

I hear you on that brother, I’m rocking a 2070 Super and an AMD Ryzen 7 2700x and I’ve had nothing but issues after season 3.

My FPS plummets to 70-80 when it usually hangs around 100-110. Not to mention that my graphics, textures and render went to complete trash. Never touched any of the hardware, reformatted my entire computer and nothing.

I have a feeling it’s the game and something they did in the patch. Honestly their support was poor, and I’m testing the game in safe mode atm

Makes me wonder if it’s the same across the board.  Sloppy code is a big problem in games.  If it’s sloppy code though it would slow a fast machine (which you got) but it would slow a slower machine just as much and make them unusable.   It is possible to write code that slows faster machines but not slower ones.  It doesn’t HAVE to be done on purpose but it would require a certain amount of fairly unlikely random action that implies intent.

Could also be that the higher end drivers and stuff are being written more sloppily.  If the driver for a high end card is garbage it will run just as slow as a slower card with a better driver.  Kind of a dirt stupid move for manufacturers as it becomes pointless to buy more expensive cards.  Why spend more money on hardware if it doesn’t do any good?
