Well read the article and fully understand optical over laser thank you!!! I know now i will be going with an optical laser mouse..

If you have time, read this article: http://www.overclock.net/t/951894/the-truthful-mouse-guide

Ultimately its up to the individual to find out if the laser's flaws are noticeable and/or effect your performance.

It really is personal preference. I don't find there to be any difference in performance between laser and optical. Your results may very.

It's worth mentioning that what you're conscious of and what's affecting you aren't necessarily one and the same. Just because you couldn't feel/notice the cursor going those extra few pixels in the 0.3 seconds you moved it to the target -causing it to overshoot where your muscle memory dictated it should go - doesn't mean it didn't deny you a headshot.

Fortunately, as time goes on and more flawless optical mice get released, there's very little reason to settle for laser mice at all. We're still missing flawless MMO and wireless mice, and the selection of fingertip-grip mice is pretty terrible, but with something like the M45 and M65, the latter only really has it's looks going for it. The sensor's objectively worse and the sniper button is more likely to hurt ones aim than aid it.

Interesting. I see what you are getting at but I don't have any qualms about my M60 in terms of performance in comparison to other laser or optical mice. I've never had any jitter or poor input. For reference, I use it on an Ikea wood laminate desk, no mouse mat.

I imagine you'd be conscious of both of those, though. I was mainly thinking of acceleration.

Toby what mouse do you prefer for a fps person?? It has to be optical sensor i was thinking of going with the m45

I use things like the CM Storm Spawn and Krait 2013, which would probably be too small for your liking.

The M45 should serve you well. The Logitech G400s, Razer Deathadder, Roccat Kone Pure Optical, Steelseries Rival and Mionix Naos 7000/Avior 7000 are all commendable too.

Why have i neveer seen or heard of the Krait 2013? As far as I can tell it uses the same sensor as the DA but is ambidextrous?

Pretty much. Its chassis is a smaller version of the Taipan, but with no side-buttons and it indeed has the same sensor as the DA. The reason for its relative obscurity is that it's only sold in asia (I had to import it), which is why I don't tend to recommend it.

I miss having side buttons though, so I'm rather looking forward to this.

yea I say a thing on it on overclock.net after you mentioned it. I would not be able to use it without the side buttons and from that review its even small for a fingertip grip mouse. This would make sense since it aimed at the asian market. They have done this before with a few different mice if I remember correctly.

Ooo a spawn v2 i hope they increase the quality a feel a good bit. I wouldnt mind paying more for it either. I heard rumoors of a palm version of the spawn which I would like to see personally since im more of a palm user.

I would reccomend DA 2013 its the best mouse I have ever used I only wish it had a bit more buttons

I agree it needs at least one more that i can make DPI toggle or cycle if not two more. I do understand why it hasnt been changed though because just like the G400s its a classic. I actually wouldnt mind if they redid the mamba as long as the kept the 2013 sensor and took the wireless stuff from the ouroborous.

I'm someone that puts their middle finger on the mouse wheel and ring finger on right-click, so I found it to be super narrow. I got used to it after a week or so though, which is why I'm 50/50 on the whole "comfort" thing (obviously comfort matters, but I think adaption plays a large part in that).

Ahh so 3 finger person you should get the boomslang ce I had one shortly after it came out I wonder what happened to it.

I like the G600 for that though its a bit different, also Corsair has the M4 but it just looks cheap and crappy. I really wish someone would make a nice mouse with a proper 3rd click. I have use 2 finger for quite a while and remap middle click to reload in any shooters I play as its simple and quick. Its been a while since I used the G600 so I forget what i actually used that 3rd click for, possible melee?

I have the razer naga 2012 and I really like it. And from what I have heard the 2014 version is even better, unless you want to  change the grip type on the side

The shape of the two mice is completely different and besides have the same number of buttons roughly in the same location they are very different mice. I personally think the change was for the better but everyone may not feel the same.
