Don't buy a sound card. Ever. You will hear an improvement if you invest in an audio DAC/AMP. If you can afford it, a set up I'm investing in is a FiiO E17 plus an E09K AMP. A cheaper solution would be a FiiO E10.

CPU: 5930K @ 4.5GHz | GPU: Zotac GTX 980Ti AMP! Extreme edition @ 1503MHz/7400MHz | RAM: 16GB Corsair Dom Plat @ 2667MHz CAS 13 | Motherboard: Asus X99 Sabertooth | Boot Drive: 400GB Intel 750 Series NVMe SSD | PSU: Corsair HX1000i | Monitor: Dell U2713HM 1440p monitor

You do know that the E09k measures very poorly, and is nothing more then a charging station for the E17. I wouldn't really bother, would mostly waste cash and accomplish little.

No, I use them with onboard, no problem. If you want better sound, get the Fiio E10.

FYI, I have PC360 about .. 3 years.

It depends. What motherborad, games you play.

My Asus DG makes a big audio improvment on Asus P5Q3.

I remeber in Bad Company2, After I brought my DG, I can hear 4 directional sound, upper & lower floor very clearly.

Cod MW2, Blops, I hear enemies behind walls.

The headphone amp in DG make PC360 sounds better.

For now, even Asus Rampage Black onborad, can't compares to my Asus Phoebus.

I now hear 8 directional sound in Blops2, BF3/4, Borderlands2, Payday2, recently Titanfall beta.

So it depends how serious you play your what games ^_^

And your music/moive sounds much much better too.

You can tell the imperfection of 320k mp3, the different between cd audio & flac
