Hi there

I was wondering if you could help!

Attempting to to put together by first pc and I have ran into an issue while trying to boot windows from a usb.  I created the usb by downloading iso file and using boot camp assistant on Mac to make other drive.

My build is:

Ryzen 5 3600 with stock cooler

ASUS TUF gaming x570 plus

16gb ddr4 3600 ram

Asus GeForce RTX 2070 super 8gb dual evo

WD Black SN750 512gb

corsair TX850M 80 plus gold PSU

I go onto my bios and turned on CSM mode (photos attached) and change by boot priority to use the usb drive first but when I reboot it goes to a black screen with a blinking dash on it

i have cleared the usb drive and put the installer back on it using boot camp assistant and still same issue.

any suggestions welcome :)

@WambleCropped Sorry, I’m not sure what you mean.  This is all brand new parts for a new system. Is it possible to explain a bit more fully as I’m new to this

when I have tried installing windows on a pc in the past, it has been the wrong format and will not install. This does not look like your problem. Honestly, the quickest fix here is just to be a copy of windoes from Newegg. I have the same bad experince with ISO images and linux but I was able to fix it after changing boot prioity

Probably won't work to use boot camp assistant, it puts specific boot files to match the UEFI on macs...

Seems unetbootin is a common choice to make bootable drives for mac users.
