New Display Thoughts on this one?

ddennis002

Had a 27" LG 27UK650 IPS monitor was 60hz. I am big on having super clear text and a decent blacks and it was pretty good with HDR better then most.
Unfortunately this monitor recently got cracked and is beyond repair. So I been looking for a replacement. Was thing of going with a 34" 3440x1440p monitor cause i multitask more then i play any games anymore. But i do sometime, COD, Battlefield nothing that I need crazy FPS tho.

I came across this acer that looks like it came out in a few other country's late last year and is now making its way to US as BestBuy just listed it yesterday.

Thoughts on this monitor just looking at the specs and any other recommendations would be nice as well looking to stay under $450-475 after taxes and shipping.

Links are to the monitor and specs I could find.

my life's mission has been to tell people to never buy ACER monitors. Bad doesn't begin to describe my experience with their monitors. I have tried multiple monitors they have made, and of those I had gotten them replaced several times.

That's crazy, i have owned a lot of acer products over the years for a pretty long time and never had any issues, I ran 4 monitors back in the day all acer and they were excellent. I can deal with a manufacture if i have issues. Im not to worried about that i plan on getting best buy 4 year geek squad warranty as well. Has saved my but more than once on a few TV's and other computer related items with 0 hassle.

I went through a series of under $300 gaming monitors by them, the one that stood out as the worst was https://www.bestbuy.com/site/acer-xf270h-27-led-fhd-freesync-monitor-black/6096600.p?skuId=6096600

I pulled the trigger and bought this monitor and it came today. This thing looks great! The color and HDR is amazing the brightness is almost blinding at times in a dark scene then a bright light source enters.

I am thinking of pulling the trigger on the Acer as well. Only issue is I see only refurb models available. How do you like it so far? I plan to use it more for videos, very light gaming and mostly productivity.

I like the monitor a lot, my only complaint is the stand, while sturdy and sleek looking just bulky and i ended up changing to a wall mount.
