Hi, I've been planing to buy a new PC for a while now, i had the next configuration idea and would like to hear your ue thoughts about it:

5700XT 8GB ASUS

5 3600 Ryzen

B450F Rog Strix ASUS

2x8GB (3200MHz)

My main question is would i be able to play games like rdr2 on high graphics smoothly(60+ frame rates)?

And are there any recommendations in this budget? Thanks

The ASUS 5700XT is a fair bit overpriced. The Sapphire Pulse is about $60 less expensive.

I'd go with the MSI B450 Tomahawk Max instead of the Asus board.

Otherwise, it's good. What's your budget?

"hi 911? my grandma is on the floor and shes not responding to anything"
"have you tried turning it off and on again?"

Hey thanks for your reply, im assuming no big FPS differences between these two GPUs? Also tech seems to be more expensive where I'm m from, budget would be around 1200-1300€

that's correct. it's the same silicone, just different builder/cooler.

I used to use ATI cards which is now AMD but that was 15 + years ago and frankly I would not recommend AMD GPUs due to the cost vs the performance.

That can of course change I mean look at what AMD done with the Ryzen chips but for now the fact is that AMD is generally not the best choice for a GPU.

No, AMD makes good GPUs. They had driver issues before, but they fixed it and they are much better now.

Slightly above your €1300 budget with a 2080 Super. The question is: what resolution will you be playing at? A 2070 Super or 5700XT is fine for 1440p gaming usually. If you are on an ultra-wide I'd aim for a 2080 Super. Are you doing anything besides gaming - video/photo editing? streaming? You could also upgrade to a 3700X if you can make use of the extra cores/threads with your tasks.

If you were to get a 5700XT/2070S I'd upgrade the Ram to 3600MHz/CL16 (~90€) and maybe get a Tomahawk Max.

They've come a long way and a 5700XT is able to compete with a 2070 Super - it's a 5-10% performance difference a most (if at all) for a lot less money.

As long as it's the same chip most models will perform the same. There are some bad apples that should be avoided, but for the most part you can't go wrong as long as it's a 5700XT - Sapphire cards are very good ones.

Hey man thanks for your recommendations. One problem that I've e mentioned is that tech is generally more expensive where im from. The 2080 super starts at around 900€, 5 3600 is 200€ and similar, so this seems like a stretch right now. Regarding the motherboard, since im going to set the PC up myself, are the BIOS updates necessary with it?

What's your country? You can change locations on PCPP on the top right.

No BIOS updates necessary with any of the MSI Max boards, they are all Ryzen 3 compatible out of the box.

Im from Montenegro, i assume pcpp does not cover this region's prices. Also I'm going to use 1440p, could i expect stable 60FPS in something like rdr2 with your recommended 3600MHz on 5700XT?

Alright, yeah pricing in Montenegro sucks and not much you can do about it, sorry about that.

In that case you could either get a 5700XT or a 2070 Super. Try to get 16GB 3600MHz/CL16 ram and a MSI Tomahawk MAX or MSI Gaming Plus MAX. Both 5700XT and 2070S should be able to deliver the desired 60 FPS in RDR2 @1440p - with the 2070 Super maybe having an advantage of 5 FPS, so you might be better off with the 5700XT depending on the prices you have to deal with.
