So I installed a new gpu in my system and it’s a lot louder and hotter I was gaming and the fire alarm tripped when there was no smoke is my pc to blame and should I get cooling fans

Unless there was smoke coming out of your computer, the smoke detector going off was not from your computer. What are the specs of your computer and what are the temps?

The specs are i3 4160 Gtx 680 8gb ram 2x4 sticks 450 psu 80+ bronze and there wasn’t smoke coming out it was just hotter and louder

How do you know it runs hotter then? You can use HWInfo64 or MSI Afterburner if you already have that to check the temperatures.

I went in BIOS cpu was at 40celius

Why i am laughing at this! This is not even that funny.

 

Anyway the problem is probably in your alarm. Alarms do not trigger without smoke. You should use hwinfo64 to monitor the temps of the cpu and gpu when gaming.

There are heat detectors. The trip point though wouldn't be achievable unless it was actually on fire.

 

If you get heat syncope from your PC, you're getting there.
