Sorry, duplicate post as put it in the wrong thread.

Hi all,

Just completed my new build. It posted first time and booted. I've installed windows and have been installing all of my other programs and then suddenly the pc crashed. There wasnt a blue screen, it just died. But the rgb ram stayed lit. It now doesnt boot but when I press the on button the rgb ram and rgb lights in the motherboard light it, it just doesnt boot.

Please help, I'm worried. Specs below.

Coolermaster MasterLiquid ML360 RGB

Palit RTX 2070 Super

Corsair Vengeance Pro RGB 16GB 3600

Corsair RM750

Phanteks Eclipse P400a RGB

Belkin Surge Protected Extension Lead

It did post straight after build and restarted fine after updating drivers and installing programs. Then, I was listening to spotify and installing origin and the just died, as if someone switched off the power. I have checked the power lead with another system and it works fine so power is getting to the machine. When I turn the psu on, the motherboard rgb light up. When I press the case on switch the rgb ram lights up. But the pc does not boot or post. No I cannot get into the bios.

Forgot to mention, I have a crucial P1 m.2 1tb, a samsung 860 ssd, samsung 1Tb hdd and a 500gb Seagate hdd.

At the time it crashed, I was listening to spotify and transferring game files from samsung hdd to m.2, the original installation had actually finished and I was trying to remember my password.

Do you have all the standoffs installed? The board may have shorted or something.

Otherwise, try reseating everything.

Try booting after each of these instances

Reseat every cable. From the power supply side to the motherboard/gpu side

Move the ram around into various combinations, try seating a single dimm into various locations

Reseat the gpu

Reseat the cpu

All standoffs are in.

Psu sounds like it's making a sparkling/static noise when I turn it off now.

Will try your suggestions and report back.

Oh, also, your mobo has Q LEDs. #7 in top right. What does that do when you boot?

No lights at all.

Now things have got weird. Re inserted the ram, switched the psu on, powercut. Whole road is out. None of our house breakers have tripped.

Right it boots, posts and loads windows from the old psu. I assume then this psu is dead and I need to rma it.

That's probably the best way to go. Corsair has alright service so you should be fine doing so

Just another quickie. Would you be happy running my system on the corsair vs650 for the time being while the rma is sorted on the rm750

For the meanwhile it would be fine. You don't need 750w for this system, even 650w is more than enough. Only thing is quality wise and the VS is "good" enough for now
