Hello guys, I recently created my account in this forum because i need some help with some componentes upgrades.

My currently setup is:

- Motherboard: ASUS M5A97 R2.0

- GPU: AMD  Radeon HD 7970

- CPU: AMD FX-6300

- RAM: 2 x Corsair 4 GB (can't remender the MHz, but it's at least 5 years old)

I know I will need to replace all the components, but know I would like some help in the GPU upgrade. I have searched a bit, and found out that the GeForce RTX 2060 MSI Ventus OC 6GB is pretty good and it's in my budget.

Can someone tell me if it's worth and/or have some experiecne with the RTX 2060.

OBS: sorry if I wrote something wrong

The RTX 2060 is a great choice to upgrade to but since you're already going for a slightly more expensive RTX 2060, why not go with the RTX 2060 Super? because otherwise I'd recommend an RTX 2060 KO which has the same performance as a standard RTX 2060

And yeah do be aware that you'd most likely barely see performance improvements until you upgrade your CPU

You'd get bottlenecked severly by the FX6300. I suggest a CPU upgrade first.

Yeah sure, I am just waiting for my next payment so I can buy the CPU and the Motherboard. It's just because this GPU is on sale here where i live.

I was thinking about, but like i said above, this GPU is on sale here where i live. For me the difference between the super and the normal is like R$ 400 (live in Brazil). When you exchange the currency (Real to Dollar) may not be so expensive, but for us here it is.

Ah okay in that case it's understandable, though you might wanna consider waiting til Q3 for the new RTX 3000 series GPUs? it's up to you but the RTX 2060 is already such a huge upgrade that you'd be satisfied with it either way.

Oh i didn't know that NVIDIA would realese a new series now. But when it arrives I think It will be very expensive, can the price go low (the 10 and 20 series)?
And yes, the 2060 will be a huge upgrade for my actual setup.

For the new cards it would be a similar price as this generation, the RTX 2060 hasn't changed price since launch, it's still at ~350$ US and by looking at the price history in amazon.br it's true for Brazil as well, I'm unsure if the price will drop for the 20 series GPUs, I'm thinking because of the pandemic there wouldn't be much cards left in stock so there might be a price hike instead

There's no exact date for when the RTX 3000 series will launch but there's a lot of rumors that it'd be in September

There are many RTX 2060s available in the US for ~300-320$...

Only the KO is in the 300-320$ range, a lot of them are still in the 350$ range while some are in the 330-340$ range but eh that barely deviated from the original price it's expected to have some amount of discount after a couple of years.

That's Amazon's price history, you can look at other cards if you want.

Yeah you are sure about the pandemic and the stocks, i forgot about that.

Searching a bit more, I found a second option that is: MSI NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 Super Ventus GP OC. Someone know what the "GP" means?

Those are only newegg deals (except for the KO) which is fair to consider but we have different perspectives, I mainly focus on the median

The GP OC is a slightly higher powered card compared to the OC but that's an RTX 2060 Super you're looking at which is what I recommended from the beginning, what's the price difference on that?

Is the same difference that i said before, R$400,00 between the MSI Ventus SUPER GP OC and the normal MSI Ventus OC.
