Hi everyone!

I'd like to buy a laptop for:

day-to-day use,

programming (I'm using quite heavy IDEs - Visual Studio and Android Studio),

very light video editing,

but not for gaming.

As a ltt fan (and from some experience), I know

must have (correct me if it isn't necessary for my use [above]):

dual / quad core processor (AMD: I don't know.. Intel: 8/10 gen, i5 and above [?])

256 GB SSD

8/16 GB RAM

big screen (15.6", at least 1080p)

OS: windows

good but not necessary:

numpad

Bluetooth

lots of I/O

not important to me:

long-last battery

touch screen

4K

new / second hand at a very good condition

included office

weight

facial/fingerprint recognition

My budget is 400$ - 800$

I'm fine with upgrading myself, so low spec upgradeable machines are also good.

1. Does my requirements make sense?

2. Any suggestions for such a laptop at the price mentioned?

Thanks!

In your Budget, 4 cores should be standard.

on AMD: Ryzen 5 3500U or higher is great.

I would suggest the Business class, if you want the best quality for your Money, and longetivity (together with upgradeability, and repairability)

Lenovo Thinkpads are difficult to beat.

The E590 series for example might be a good buy, if you get them for a solid price.

E595 is the same, just with AMD Ryzen, but these don't have backlit keyboard for whatever reason.

Since they have such good quality, you can even buy second hand from stores cheaper. Then, even a T480~ probably would be possible in your Budget. The T-series is veery good build wise.

The 2020 Model E15 is also a good choice. Sadly, slightly thinner and for that only Single Channel Memory.

Or HP ProBook series, which will launch soon with Ryzen 4000 series.

G6 or G7 are fine.

They have 1920x1080, like most in this price range.

If you want at least 14", and more than 1080p, models start at like 1200-1300+

Edit: Oh yea, HP Elitebook could also be a possibility, if you find one in that price range (they are kinda a step above ProBook series).
