How to get the top off of this case

I have had this computer for about 5 years and the two fans on the top of the case died a while ago, however the screws for the fans are beneath the top panel. It has 6 of the clips(?) you see in the pic holding it down(I think). Can someone help me find out how to get the top off/clips out?

I have already tried sticking a screwdriver through it, which did nothing.

The case is a CyberPowerPC X-Sentinel MID-Tower Gaming Case

I did that and it still would not go anywhere. I even got a pair of pliers and pulled and pushed, but all that seemed to do is mangle it.
