I would just wait until the virus blows over and many more are in stock, that should drop the price. I've been wanting to get a new computer monitor due to recent technical issues but all of the highly rated ones in my price range are out of stock.

I've just recently started researching them so I wouldn't know. It depends on what you want such as screen size, resolution, panel type, refresh rate, color accuracy, contrast ratio, max nit brightness, etc. Also, monitors are a lot more expensive than I thought. I'm currently looking at 2k res, 144hz, ips, 27 incher around $450 or less. MSI and LG have some decent ones. Brand isn't important but I'm avoiding acer due to build quality. If you're shopping around for monitors, I'd avoid newegg. I've heard about bad experiences with their return policy, especially for monitors.

Example of a decent monitor: https://www.amazon.com/MSI-Non-Glare-Adjustment-Optix-MAG271CQR/dp/B07RPFZPS9
