[Fixed]Issues after purchasing a Ryzen 3200G and MSI a320m-a Pro

I think I found the solution to my problem. For some reason the vcore dropped too low, at times,  for the pc to be stable. This morning i locked it at 1.2v, and it hasnt crashed since.

This is only the second time, that i use a motherboard from someone other than ASUS. Last time was in the days of Athlon XPs. And back then i also had issues.

My main pc with a 3700x and ASUS B450 Plus Gaming has always been rock solid.

Never again will i stray from the path!

Tried something different today and I was able to play both the tutorial and a match of Valorant, while screensharing, so it looked promising. Wasn't much different and didn't expect results, but a friend of mine told me and since I hadn't done it on this clean Windows installation, I increased the virtual memory limit to 12Gb (since I have 8Gb RAM).

I then tried other games and there it was, the same error, it was just one of those delayed error runs that I had previously, though this one took much longer. Even got some nasty graphics glitches here and there, managed to screenshot the worst one.1754375654_Capturadepantalla(5).thumb.png.990c42717b50d2165dfbc17e5a52907d.png1906273668_Capturadepantalla(6).thumb.png.1d095f92f7d5dbce8001efc232295f74.png985189376_Capturadepantalla(8).thumb.png.d5918a7c4d4853479e5c42dbf3a21b24.png1141609121_Capturadepantalla(9).thumb.png.dc8e94fbcfb1ec868ee585cb3ee2c472.png

Just tried my luck on Valorant again and it crashes, but it copied an error code to my clipboard, so that may be handy, here it is:

@FedeHippo I tried, but I don't know what's up with this motherboard but it doesn't allow me to change stuff, it steems. 1613938345_Capturadepantalla(11).thumb.png.8bc14cc1f6f5d26fa5d53a757d093e9e.png1860772917_Capturadepantalla(10).thumb.png.a40ca0ca9366d59fdb2211e5564ad8f2.png

Even after changing values, it goes back to default on the test.

I'm probably gonna go higher on the price range and get this https://www.amazon.es/Gigabyte-B450-Aorus-Elite-Carte/dp/B07GYRW53K/ref=sr_1_1?__mk_es_ES=ÅMÅŽÕÑ&dchild=1&keywords=Gigabyte+B450+Aorus+Elite&qid=1587158482&sr=8-1

That's a display driver crash.

Back the V-mem clocks down a little bit and see if that helps.

@ShrimpBrime V-mem clocks? I'm guessing you're talking about Virtual Memory, but clocks? Here's what I have set as Virtual Memory.103097934_Virtualmemory.png.8dd33f2467e7229d1b059854de8bb496.png

Not exactly... what I meant no. lol sorry for that.

@ShrimpBrime Oh, tried that already as well using MSI Afterburner, and it didn't help at all either. But after seeing how the attempts to downclock with Ryzen Master didn't do anything and it stayed at the default value on the test always and knowing this is a bad motherboard and not at all ready for OC (you can see the temps on the original post of 2 of what I'm guessing are mosfets, but I may be wrong), it's not allowing me to change the value at all.

Ah yes, I did not read the thread in it's entirety. Pretty much just this page.

OK. couple of things.

One, HWmonitor may not read some temps correctly for your setup.

Try HWInfo64 here.

hwi_624 (1).exe

Press Win+CTRL+Shift+B keys all at the same time to reset the display driver after it crashes If it doesn't reset automatically, these 4 keys at the same time will restart the driver subsystem.

@ShrimpBrimeRestarting it doesn't seem to fix it, it does flicker, but the image is still stuck after that.

Well, I read the entire thread. I think the motherboard purchase is a good move.

Ok, so I bought this and it arrived today https://www.pccomponentes.com/asus-prime-b450-plus . Finished installing everything and after dealing with a couple easy fixes, we're back to square 1

I'm clueless at this point.

Other games aren't working either.

I don't know if it could be RAM compatibily or what, I can't find the one I'm using on webs that check compatibility, so yeah, I'm at a loss, and can't keep just throwing money blindly at it.

Well since you have an enlarged page file, perhaps try a single stick of Ram in slot A1 and try gaming.

You do have a strange issue going on here for sure.

Did you purchase the video card new or second hand?

@ShrimpBrimeThis GPU was lent to me and had no issue before, tested it and had no trouble itself. I'm also using just 1 stick of RAM, which is the only one I have right now.
I'd buy a better RAM and try, but I'm already waiting for the refund of half of the stuff and it's already getting way too high compared to what I was aiming at at the start and the problem is still there. So yeah, buying new RAM, wasting more and not knowing if that's the problem...
I will be getting this one when I can, probably https://www.amazon.es/HyperX-Fury-HX432C16FB3A-Memoria-3200MHz/dp/B07WJJFV9Z/ref=sr_1_7?__mk_es_ES=ÅMÅŽÕÑ&crid=5NBJ49DON9V&dchild=1&keywords=ram+8gb+ddr4+3000mhz+cl16&qid=1587220214&sprefix=RAM+8%2Caps%2C174&sr=8-7 but yeah, I'd prefer to wait a bit for this and not to keep spending blindly in such a shor amount of time.

Nope I never gave you the idea to purchase anything, and totally understand the frustration.

But dont mind helping and giving ideas hopefully to get the issue resolved.

The bummer is you dont have a second system to test these parts with. For all we know, the PSU just cant hold the load of the video card.

So without testing each component, including the video card segregated to another system, we then have a poor diagnostic path and you have to spend more money. And that sucks. I feel for you. I feel bad cause theres not much I can really do to help unless you move out by me and we start swapping hardware out!!

@ShrimpBrime Luckily, I got an acquantaince's old system that they were throwing out, so I'll be testing with the PSU from that system (a 500w, which was a surprise to find in such a build, but it's a good thing for me here). Besides that, I can test their HDD, but I doubt that one would be the case, since I played just fine while running a Linux OS through a flash memory, so that's what doesn't really make sense to me.

Would you know if the RAM I sent is compatible with my 3200G? I know Ryzen is quite picky with the RAM it uses, but yeah, can't find a good answer when I look for it.

Tomorrow I'll be testing the other PSU and then formatting the PC again, which I'm getting tired of doing this many times, but oh well.

That's the thing......

So the QVL almost never gets updated from mobo manufacturers. So it's partly useless if a different version (IE: 1.0-1.2-1.3 so forth) of the same memory kit part number is bought and used..

Then, almost all memory is configured and set up for "XMP" profile. Meaning Intel compatible. So then back to square one with the above QVL.....

And After THAT...... the QVL for most boards with memory tested on much earlier bios's than most people would be running, especially on B450 boards at the Agesa update to support Zen2 chips.

So you're asking if the Cpu may just not like the "corsair value select 8GB 2333 CL 15" memory stick, singular.... which is easiest on the memory controller, well.... I'm sorry to say I don't have a good direct answer for that.

But from what you read above, it could be a chance the IMC doesn't like it.

WAIT, there's more to my thoughts here....

Recently, there was a young man with an issue on a certain game that was telling him his Vram was full. One of the fixes is to enlarge the page file. Although I'm not sure the issue was ever resolved.... Perhaps increase your Page file to at least 16GB and see if that helps.

I increased my VRAM and it didn't help, sadly.
What I asked about RAM compatibility wasn't about my current one, but the one I plan to buy.

What I asked about RAM compatibility wasn't about my current one, but the one I plan to buy. My main problem being that I don't know if these are equivalent:

This one appears on the QVL
https://www.pccomponentes.com/kingston-hyperx-fury-black-8gb-ddr4-3200mhz-pc-25600-cl16?gclid=CjwKCAjw1v_0BRAkEiwALFkj5t8dcrqrSXCwEjrQOkGteSMcuYFFRzsCJ8ztZWYI0_e0hSyzZJiL2xoC9BoQAvD_BwE

And this one doesn't
https://www.pccomponentes.com/kingston-hyperx-fury-rgb-8gb-ddr4-3200mhz-pc-25600-cl16

But they seem to be the same except for the RGB, which I would like to get if possible, since I'm already spending more, I'll get a flashy system for the first time at least.

I'd get a much larger stick of memory. If you are only using a single stick, get 16GB.

Not increase the Vram..... The Page file.

Page file is when your system memory (RAM) is fully utilized, the programs push information to the page file, also known to be called "virtual memory"

I think this might really help you out here. I really do.

How to set larger page file. (I copied pasted this, don't hate me lol)

  1. Right-click on This PC and open Properties.
  2. Select Advanced System Properties
  3. Click Advanced tab
  4. Under Performance, click Settings
  5. Under Performance Options, click Advanced tab
  6. Here, under Virtual memory, select Change
  7. Uncheck Automatically manage paging file size for all drives
  8. Highlight your Windows system drive
  9. Select Custom size
  10. Change the Initial size value and the Maximum size value to a higher value
  11. Click Set
  12. Finally, Click Apply/OK and restart the sytem.

Yeah, I sent a screenshot previously of me changing the VRAM, as said, it sadly didn't help.
I'm now checking the list to see what I can get, wanted to go with 3200 for the optimal result, but I'm looking at the 3000 ones now, right now the best option I'm looking at is https://www.pccomponentes.com/kingston-hyperx-predator-ddr4-3000-pc4-24000-8gb-1x8gb-cl15
Can't go up to 16Gb because I'm already getting close to my limit for the time being, so yeah, that's sadly out of the question, I'm just using the QVL to check for the best thing I can get without getting much higher than 50-60 euro.

Ah. I typically refer to VRAM as Video memory and virtual memory as page file. I'm sorry for the confusion.

These are on sale?? I'm not translating well. What is Without VAT?
