Getting a b450 board with a 3600 would be the best option for a long term future proofing, however I don't think you will see much improvements in gaming really. A gpu upgrade to something like a rtx 2060 or RX 5700 would do the most for gaming improvements given your current spec

RTX 2060/RX5700 with an i5 7500? Thats a bottleneck.

I have a

CPU: i5 7500

Motherboard: msi b250m pro vd

Ram 2x8: 16gb 2400mhz

Psu: evga 600 80+ bronze

GPU: xfx rx 570 8gb

I am looking to upgrade but I am not sure what will give me the best future proofing and best gaming performance I have a budget around 300 dollars

Your build is great, However I do recommend you upgrading the CPU. If i were you Id go with the i7-7700K, Although the i7-8700k is a better choice but it doesn't work on your MOBO.

It may get bottlenecked but it would still yield better gaming performance than upgrading the cpu alone

Your current GPU is not giving it's best preformance because of your CPU. However, an GPU upgrade indeed would give better performance but the RTX would be bottlenecked eitherways since your motherboard CPU socket architecture is KabyLake . RTX 2060 would need a CoffeeLake so you can get the most performance out of it. I strongly discourage you to buy an RTX 2060. Either buy a new MOBO and CPU or CPU and a GPU that does have low bottleneck percentage.
