Help me chose a ssd sata/nvme m.2?.

sakib khan

Hi.. Currently im using i5 6500 with gigabyte z170m d3h mobo , 16gb ddr4 ram, 1tb HDD and 128gb ssd(boot drive)

I mostly  use this system to learn coding and playing game. My ssd currently died... I want a ssd that is durable and fast at the same time. And my pc sometimes used by my brother who usually moves large files  .. So I want to know which one will be better for me sata or Nvme m.2? Any suggestion would help a lot.    Thank you..

I would go with one 128gb m.2 just for the OS and a larger Sata SSD for everything else.... Not an expert tho... lolss

Id get a bigger ssd, the space is nice to have.

Do you have a budget?

MIght as well get a m.2 drive, there normally about the same price. Same with nvme, if its about the same price, no reason to go sata.

How about something like a sn550 or a 660p?

Hey,

I have problems to imagine a budget. But from what i can tell you dont seem like a person in need of an nvme.

Reliable Sata SSD's using the SM2258 Controller :
- Crucial MX500
- L5 Lite 3D
- TCSUNBOW X3 (No Temp sensor, Dram random, very bad customer support)

Entry NVME SSD thats currently at a nice price :
- Crucial P1

Mid-Range NVME SSD solution :
- Sabrent Rocket
- HP EX920

IMO : MX500 all the way
