For newbies, it's important to kniw that we all start at the same point. It's okay to be unknowledgeable at first, you're going to become better as time goes by.

I've belonged to a number of forums, some for a *very* long time (I"m looking at you ArsTechnica) and LTT is far and away the friendliest group I've run across, very forgiving of newbie questions, and the forum layout, notifications, PMs, DMs, etc, is also quite well laid out.
