Do NVMe drive need an heat sink?

Hey so I'm using a Intel 660p as my boot drive and i was wondering should I add a heat sink to it or not? I am using a Node 202 case and it can get a bit toasty during gaming but nothing too serious.

I agree, it's not necessary. With gaming, rarely will there be sustained writes to the drive, and reads don't last but a few seconds to load texture maps (the bulk of a game disk reading)

 

The only time I would recommend going through the effort of adding a cheap $5 heat-sink would be to drop the temps by about 10 degree lower so that it's below the threshold of thermal throttling. About the only time I can imagine heat-soaking an SSD would be if constantly writing data to the drive while video editing.
