LinusTechTips Form Social Distancing Line Spacing for Posts Question

Boomwebsearch

Hi LinusTechTips community,

I noticed a banner notification on the site that says to leave 2x line spacing at the start and end of each post and before and after quotes, I like the idea, although I am not sure how many spaces to leave if I want to start a post with a quote (would it be four spaces down from the beginning since two from starting the post and then another two for the quote, or only two spaces in total for the beginning section of a post)?

Hope this information post was helpful  ?,

Ha !!!

THAT is a smart question !!!

Personnally I'd say that it would be "2 + 2" rule under the Alternative Thinking Act of the Constitution Rule!

SO... If you start your post with a quote it should be 22 lines then 2 lines under the quote and then you type your text and if you end it like that it would be 2 more lines.

If you end it with another quote, then the "2+2" rule who'd apply again and then it would end with 22 blank lines again.

More than good safe distancing in my opinion! Better safe than sorry!!!!

The WHO recommends we keep a 1m distance from each other. With 14 point text size, that is 101,24 lines, which we of course round up to 102 for safety. I feel like only two lines is too close, so I recommend everyone use 102 blank lines instead.

Good! Good!!

Now... If we take this 102 lines for safe distancing and convert them into binary we get 1100110 lines!!!! Isn't that even better in terms of social distancing??? 😼
