I have been using it for more than 3 months today I was unable to delete or paste any file inside it googled about it tried all the things nothing helped

Might have failed.

You could try reformatting it under something like a LiveUSB of Ubuntu, but if its a hardware failure, it's time to get a new one

NOTE: I no longer frequent this site. If you really need help, PM/DM me and my e.mail will alert me.

usb sticks often fail in read only mode. This seems like it died and went into read only to try to let the user get the data.

So there is no change it could be fixed?

It's likely a hardware failure. Pull the files off it you want to keep, and toss it. Buy a new one, they are dirt cheap

pretty unlikely. usb sticks are pretty cheap so its basically disposable.

Now I remember where I messed up

yesterday I connected my USB to my netgear router and tried using ready share and I set it up for read only and now my USB is permanently stuck at read only.

i tried connecting the USB in the modem again and now logged into the modem but the ready share option says no USB detected 😭 if I could somehow make the router detect my pendrive there is a 50% change it could be reversed can anyone help me

It’s a netgear r6120-100ins router.

I really don't think the router is the issue here.

I think the drive was going do die anyways, and the read only mode doesn't affect the actual drive.
