Hey, I need a GPU for my dad.

It needs a DVI port and a VGA (or another DVI , as can use a adapter) he uses 2 montiors and no onboard gpu on cpu

The only thing he does on the computer is microsoft office and on the internet browsing.

I can't imagine the GPU plays a vital part in anything hes doing and was just wondering If something like a http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-182-MS&groupid=701&catid=1914

would be fine, just for the two ports on the back really...

If not suggestions are welcome, but trying to keep cost down.

The card you listed is fine. He's not powering some sort of awesome 1440p panel is he?

The only advantage to going up to a card like @paulsterio suggested is dx11 support. It won't really make any difference.

The Radeon 5000 series should be plenty in his case, and support the needed ports. I got an old 5570 laying around with 1 HDMI and 2 DVI ports and could easily run a triple 1080p setup.

What is the budget? But what you linked should work if he's only using it to run monitors.

No budget, just something cheap ;p

And yes thats all he needs it for.  Only using microsoft office and general browsing/streaming online.  I can't imagine the gpu is doing anything....

Naw its just two basic 1080p monitors.

No games or anything, just office and internet browsing/streaming.

I would go with a super low end 600 series, would be nice to have something half modern in there.

Yeh, thing is though, that don't see the point in spending money, when hes never going to need anything that powerful as the GPU is doing nothing other than outputing the image as far as I'm aware.

I would get this http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/asus-video-card-eah5450silentdi1gd3lp only beacause it is dx11 compatible.

for the minimum i would say a gt 610, if he would like to dabble into some family picture editing and home home movie editing a Gt 640 will work for a relatively low price as well. I know the EVGA GT 640 Superclocked 2 slot that I had had 2 DVI ports and came with an adapter for VGA. hope that helps.

Im not sure about the pricing of these, but either a 630 or a r7 240. Whichever is cheaper.

I say get a 7770 or a 7750, he won't fully use them, but they are so much better that anything else in that price range, especially the 7770. I say get a 7750.
