What should my next upgrade be?

I have a budget of $450 for an upgrade on my system listed below, some things I had in mind were getting a 3900X CPU or getting faster ram.

MSI B450 Tomahawk
Ryzen 5 2600X CPU @ 4GhZ
Cooler Master AIO (240mm)
32GB DDR4 2400mHz Ram
XFX 5700 XT Graphics Card
500GB SanDisk Ultra SSD (Boot/Essentials)
2TB WD Blue HDD (Files)
550W EVGA Gold PSU

Do you really need a 3900x?

I think it's foolish to spend money on something that will be outdated in a few months.

I'd consider buying a 1TB NVME SSD before prices go back up.

2400mhz RAM is an odd choice as well, as it's robbing you of considerable performance. I'd consider upgrading that to faster memory.

Do you think NVME is really worth it? I accidentally purchased 2400MHZ ram from Best Buy and just went with it anyways.

Maybe save up for the iPhone 12 or get an audio setup.

Have an iPhone 11 Pro Max, I am just trying to find something to take my setup to the next extreme.

It's about the same price as SATA, so yes. It's more the capacity increase that would be beneficial, allowing you to install more games (if you game) in the future.

500GB is going to be extremely limiting going forward.

Also, as the new consoles have NVME storage, it'll start to become actually useful.

Well I still have my 2TB HDD. I am on the fence of NVME, I have a few gift cards and it brings the price to $30.

NVMe just isn't that helpful unless you do very large file transfers regularly. For new builds, I recommend it over SATA drives. But upgrading from SATA to NVMe SSDs is largely a waste of money

HD 6xx, JDS Labs Atom, and a Schiit Modi. Your audio will be monumentally better than if you are using a headset.

As I already stated, it was more for the capacity upgrade than the protocol.

I'd rather get it now than want it later and end up paying more for it.
