So when you bought it temps were 75-77, got up to 81-90, did a cleaning/repast and temps dropped to 81?

what about ambient air in the room?

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Life is like a bowl of chocolates: there are all these little crinkly paper cups everywhere.

As what the others said, get a new cooler. The intel stock cooler is not good and what your temperatures were before (75-77) degrees celsius is still hot in my opinion. Even a cheap cooler is better than that.
