Building a PC for my girlfriend, this is what i have so far - http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/2UsqA

Requirements are:

-Must look pretty and be white (hence the gorgeous Node 304)

-Must be as cheap as possible but cover all needs

-Doesn't have to include keyboard or mouse

-Large monitor to watch tv shows

-I've chosen said motherboard for built in wifi

-Open budget, but must be cheap!

She will only use it for web browsing, consuming media and playing minecraft if I can persuade her its an incredible game.

Let me know what you think of my build and your suggested changes

Open budget! GAH, how bout below 1000?

Open but cheap as possible for needs! That does make sense right?

Beautiful fast suggestions as always. However I don't have ANY experience with CPUs like that. Are they actually good enough? I don't really have much trust in a £32 CPU.

It uses the same cores as the i3 but just slower and no HT. It's plenty for what your GF is doing.

kk. I'll take your word for it. Would a cheap GPU benefit at all if it ever starts struggling or anything?

It wouldn't struggle at all with at the very least bluray 1080p. If you're going to 4K or using more than 2 displays, it would be beneficial to get a graphics card.

Yeah 4k's way out of her league...will go for your build. Thanks for your help!

Actually one more thing, would it be worth getting the G1830 for the increased clock speed? Or a 3420/3430 or are those CPUs out the question?

No point spending more for a difference so small that you wouldn't notice.
