Unusual request: Help with switch

Hey all, I know this is mainly for PC troubleshooting so push me in the correct direction if this isnt the appropriate board. 

I bought a 2nd hand switch to play ACNH however in the past day and a bit its become completely unusable. I feel like its a software issue but I dont know how to fix it.

I bought the console 2 days ago with three games and first issue was the left joycon rail wasnt working so I couldnt get passed the connect joycons screen. I opened up the machine and reconnected the ribbon cable and that fixed it.

AC wasnt delivered till today so I played mario kart for the past day and a bit and it would crash every now and again on boot but didnt seem major. Splatoon would also crash on boot but 1 2 switch would work fine.

Then AC is finally delivered today and I put the card in, download the update and then pop to the eshop to claim my 7 day trial of Online and the eshop doesnt load it gets stuck on the orange loading screen. Theres still movement but it then freezes when I press home. The cartridge reader then stopped working until I factory reset the device but as soon as I try and play anything other than mario or 1 2 switch the console freezes and I have to hard reset or factory reset.

Any help would be much appreciated!

I feel like you may as well get this replaced while it under warranty instead of trying to fight with it. Sounds like you got a lemon of a console and I wouldn't want to be stuck with it after its warranty expires.

Not sure I qualify for warranty given I bought 2nd hand unfortunately, would've loved to otherwise.

With the joycon issue, do you by chance know if it was jailbroken? If it was jailbroken and they had the wrong programs running when they connected to Nintendo servers, you're SOL.
