Looking for a 1440p Monitor

Hello people of LTT, I am looking for a monitor to complete my build. I am rocking a GTX 1080ti paired with a Ryzen 3600, so I would like to upgrade to 1440p. I am looking for something that is 144hz, and is either VA or IPS (would like for someone to explain the differences, and which one is better), all without breaking the bank. While I don't have a budget per se, but I don't want to needlessly spend money either. Any help would be appreciated
