I want to buy a gaming laptop but can't really decide which one of these to go for
1. Acer nitro 7 AN715-51 : i7 9750h , gtx1660ti, 8gb ram , 144hz display
2. Asus tuf fx505dv : ryzen 7 3750h, rtx2060 , 16gb ram , 120hz display

Both are priced very similarly.
What do you guys think??

If you can't decide, I would look into reading about some other features like: how's the keyboard? Which screen looks better? Which is lighter? Which has better battery life? Maybe the thermals under load or the acoustics. There are many other features that should be taken into account aside from the specs of a laptop ;) - keep it in mind.

Also, when buying a laptop it's good to check both of them out in a physical store just to see which keyboard/screen you prefer for yourself.

My friends have both these laptops but in different cpu/gpu config . I'm confused about the difference in performance but in all other aspects I prefer the nitro 7.

neither

My suggestions:

Lenovo Legion Y540 81SX0041IN / 81SX00GHIN, need to add 8GB RAM for dual channel

Lenovo Legion Y7000SE 81NS0022IN / 81NS0023IN, need to add 8GB RAM for dual channel

If still feel like too expensive: MSI GL63 9SD-1042IN / 1045IN. Mediocre build quality and QC, outdated design (thick bezel, red accents etc), 120Hz TN panel (some are good, some are bad), also need RAM upgrade

Desktop specs:

Spoiler

AMD Ryzen 5 5600 Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE ARGB Gigabyte B550M DS3H mATX

Asrock Challenger Pro OC Radeon RX 6700 XT Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (8Gx2) 3600MHz CL18 Kingston NV2 1TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD

Montech Century 850W Gold Tecware Nexus Air (Black) ATX Mid Tower

Laptop: Lenovo Ideapad 5 Pro 16ACH6

Phone: Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro 8+128

These are a lot more expensive in comparison to the ones I mentioned (approximately 200-300 dollars) here in india
