AMD Wraith coolers/socket size

I'm loooking at the Wraith PRISM, he seems to have a larger cpu area compared to the SPIRE, is that the case? Will it be too big when installed on a 2600X?

All Wraith coolers will work on an AM4 socket, doesn't matter which CPU you have. All the CPU's have the same heatspreader too, so a cooler that will work on a 3900X will also work on a 2600X.

So are you asking about the size of the coldplate only, or size of the whole cooler?

Coldplate, I'm talking about the area of the cooler that goes in contact with the cpu, where goes the thermal paste... the PRISM seems to have a larger surface.

I know they're compatible, I'm just wondering if it will look too big. Is the 3900X larger than the 2600X?

Even if the coldplate was really large, that's not a problem. If it was too big for a 2600X, it would be too big for a 3700X, because they're the exact same size.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

It has a larger coldplate (different design), but that doesn't matter.

You'll apply thermal paste to the CPU and mount the cooler, so there is no problem in the coldplate being large, as the thermal paste will ensure good contact.

Do any of this coolers install easily straight away on AM4 without the need to mess with adaptors/backplate, just like a stock cooler?

For the cryorig C7 you need its backplate. I can't find a video of someone mounting the Juno pro to AM4 but it has a proprietary mounting ring, and by my experience, that means it needs the backplate removed. Still, I wouldn't say that either of these coolers are a "hassle," and attaching a backplate or retention ring is actually pretty easy, especially since almost every PC case has a hole behind the motherboard tray for you to reach in and attach that stuff easy.

Thanks. I found a video review of Juno Pro, the box shows that the mounting ring is for the Intel sockets, for AMD is just like the Wraith coolers.

Are you looking at these coolers as Spire replacements? They're not a substantial upgrade if any over stock.

What case and ram are you using and why are you looking at these coolers in particular?

Yeah I know they aren't great for OC, but so isn't the 2600x without going beyond 1.40v anyway. The performance increase isn't that much...
I'm looking at those coolers as an easy replacement with RGB and more silent. I know the cases have a hole behind the motherboard, I've done it several times in the past, but I just don't have the patience anymore 😋

The PC is the first one on my signature.

They're not much quieter if at all either.

Do you have the windowed or solid side panel E500L?

If it's the solid panel version, there should be plenty of clearance for a more substantial upgrade like the Gammaxx GTE: https://www.kuantokusta.pt/informatica/Arrefecimento/Ventiladores-CPU/DeepCool-Gammaxx-GTE-RGB-DP-MCH4-GMX-GTE-p-1-625496

If you have the windowed version, it might just fit.

It's the windowed panel, otherwise I wouldn't want RGB. The limit is 157mm. Without RGB I like the Arctic Freezer 34 eSports Red, but it's exactly 157mm, so idk...

I really like that DeepCool Gammaxx GTE, but it's 157,4mm.

Specifications tend to be conservative in that there's probably a bit more clearance available than listed so a 157mm cooler should fit in a case that specifies 157mm of clearance.
