Old Server New Gaming Pc?

hey guys, with my tax refund around the corner im thinking of getting my brother a new Pc. he does some editing for youtube channels and would like to game. his current rig is at its limits and i was hoping the community could help me figure out some hardware as well as a case/ mounting solution thanks!

Budget? Also do you mean you want to re-use / upgrade a server for him to use as a PC?

What do you mean with old server new gaming pc? Also what are his current specs so we know where to start from.

yes, im looking at (if possible) to get some old server hardware to make a editing rig that can also game (decently).

 

also:

 

cpu: AMD Athlon 2 X4635 quad core

 

ram: 14gbs DDR3

 

gpu: Rx 480 8gb

Budget? Server hardware does not make a good gaming pc. Especially with ryzen right now where it does both extremely well and falls right into the same pricerange as most old xeon v1, v2 and v3 stuff.

im thinking 650-1000 but im just doing some research, honestly editing/ work station part is more important, i just need some gaming so i can get my editor off his old rig
