Windows 7 aero not working?

I wanted to use a dreamscape wallpaper for a ps3 slim pc build but it needs aero to work. I tried so much to get it to work but it just.. wont. Rn Thule build is using a core 2 duo, 2gb ram, GeForce gt730 4gb gddr3. Hard drive is the stock drive that came w/ the ps3.  Can u guys help me please? I really need this to work.

I think if Win 7 doesn't see the GPU as being fast enough it won't enable Aero. I assume you manually tried to enable Aero theme and it didn't work? I am not sure if there is a way to trick it...

Also, really shouldn't be using Win 7 online due to it being EOL. If its an air gapped instal and won't be directly connected to the internet, that is fine.

Other people have reported windows 7 not seeing the GT730 as Aero-compliant.

https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/forums/geforce-graphics-cards/5/216081/is-gt-730-aero-compliant/

So it looks like you need another GPU.

Maybe the stupid Windows benchmark

To use Aero, you must meet the following requirements:

  • You have to rate your computer first (Windows Experience Index).
  • Your computer must have DirectX 9.0 or a later version installed. Or, your computer must have WDDM 1.0 or a later version installed.
  • Aero is not available in Windows 7 Home Basic.

Yeah probably won't be easy, need to find someone who kept and posted old driver installers that still support it...
