hi all!

i'm considering to upgrade my gaming/rendering system since the render times for after effects/premiere/media encoder are "kinda"bad.......

my current setup is:

motherboard: gigabyte GA-990-FX (rev 1.0)
CPU: AMD FX9590 stock clock
cooler: corsair H100i platinum (RGB ofc u.u)
RAM: 2x8GB corsair vengence 1600MHz - 2x8gb HyperX 1600MHz
GPU: zotac rtx 2060 super
PSU: corsair CX 850M bronze

my budged is around 700/750€ (around 840$) mostly buying my stuff on amazon cause of the amazing warrenty ^^ what combination of CPU+RAM+Motherboard would be a really nice upgrade gaming oriented with some rendering? i was thinking about the ryzen 7 series but i'm not an expert so i'm curious to hear some ideas :D

thanks ^^

Comes to €663.27 on Amazon Germany. With its recent discount, you could probably even squeeze in a 3900X in there and still fit within your €750 budget. Either way, it will be a massive improvement in both gaming and rendering over your current space heater of a 9590 haha, man those things ran hot!

The motherboard's actually very similar to the TUF X570-PLUS (which I would've chosen in the first place but I wanted to stick to a lower budget); it's mostly extra bells and whistles, as in terms of VRM they are almost identical (they could easily handle a 3950X with no issues). Most notably would probably be the better on-board audio, compared to the Prime board I mentioned in my original post or the TUF. I would still recommend you go for the cheaper and very similar TUF board, but if you want to stick to the Strix for looks or something else, check pricing for the X570-E - if that's the same price as the F then go with that, as it also adds Wi-Fi and marginally better VRMs (not that you're going to need them unless you plan on doing LN2 overclocking).

The RAM is, on paper, slightly worse, as it has slightly looser timings, but at these frequencies it doesn't really make that big of a difference. Considering it costs 50% more than the Ripjaws kit I chose in my original post, I would suggest to not go for it, but if you want that RGB then I can't stop you.
