Hello guys and gals,

I wanted to know if it was normal for laptops to have an upward of 86- 91 C cpu temp while gaming. I have a feeling my laptop has always had a problem with this, however I'd like to know if it'd be a good time to clean out some dust or replace the thermal compound. The laptop has been used for about 5 years, with the initial year being the most intense. I havent used it from then much until the following 6 months. Wondering again if anything should be don

What's the model? I'd suggest repasting the CPU if it's not too hard.

It's normal for laptops to not have sufficient cooling. Especially gaming laptops. Either limit the CPU power or get a cooling pad.

Install Intel XTU and undervolt your CPU a lil bit (around .05V ~ .075V).  It's also become practice by some manufacturers to undervolt from the factory.  And also do what others suggested with cleaning and repasting.
