Since I got my new second Monitor (144hz 1440p) and upgraded my gpu (to a 1080ti) some games keep freezing, while others work perfectly fine. I've tried installing the latest drivers and even runnig ccleaner but nothing seems to help.

🤔 By freezing, do you mean random micro freezing, like stuttering?

No, I get a completely frozen image and sound

Are all your drivers updated for GPU and CPU? Bios and Operating system current? What are your full system specs?

All my drivers are the latest, I got Windows 10, but I have no idea about BIOS. my specs are:

I7-7700

GTX 1080ti

16gb ram

msi z270 a pro

and I have one 1440p 144hz monitor and one 1080p 75hz.

I just found that when i turn off the second monitor while starting a game and later turn it back on the game  doesnt crash, but I still wanna find out what the problem is as this can be a permanent solution.

🤔 You can type "system information" in the search bar, and it will tell you what version of your bios you have installed. Here is the link to the latest version you can download. This might be a power supply issue.

Few other things you can try is changing the power settings for that monitor to "high performance" for the particular game exe file you are playing under 'display settings', and then 'graphics settings'. Under display settings, there should also be a box you can check that allows you to make it your main display. This is what others suggested, so not sure if it works. This also might be a power supply issue. Whats the make and model of your PSU?

I got a Cooler Masterwatt lite 600 Watt 80+.

My Bios version is from the beginning of 2017, maybe I should update it.

Yeah, you should always make sure absolutely everything is up to date as a best practice.

is ur system overclocked?

freezing need restart/reboot pc?

need to stress test and see if it is stable with default settings first?

My system isnt overclocked

i just need to close the game with task manager

my system worked perfectly fine, my games only started to freeze since i got my new monitor. Older games like shellshock or games like bf1 work perfectly fine while games like wows and bf4 crash after some time.
