New PC audio Issues

Dom_wpc__

(RESOLVED) I just built my first PC and have noticed some audio issues which I can't seem to resolve

Both the front case audio jacks and the rear MOBO audio jacks are effected but my monitor's built in speaker that is driven through the HDMI connection to the graphics card is perfectly fine.

The audio through the jacks either doesn't work at all or it is really quiet with weird distortions, echoes, and missing tracks, For instance, when listening to a song the instrumental track can be heard ok but the vocals are completely inaudible or distorted to the point that you can't make them out

I've tried reinstalling drivers and restarted numerous times and even got drivers straight from realtek, NOTHING IS WORKING

The issue is now resolved, thank you for your help!

Go to sounds control panel make sure the communications tab says "do nothing". I had this issue with OBS.

Also in sound control panel make sure you set main playback you want (instead of monitor speakers) is set as default you can also disable monitor speakers but that rarely needs to be done.

You need to change devices when listening through another device.

Like me I have a soundbar than a headset which I have to switch to when gaming.

Hope this help and is explained decently enough.

also make sure your audio devices do not say reatek(R). thats windows stock driver and not the one from your motherboard site.
