Do you need an OS, monitor, mouse, keyboard, etc?

Also, follow the topic that way you know when someone replies to it as soon as it happens.

You will, but sometimes it's only marginal. As for a headset I wouldn't know, I'd make a post in the audio sub-forum about people's recommendations.

All of them. Except maybe Crysis 3.. :P Note that Linus uses over the top settings for his benchmarks, lowering some settings (notably Anti-Aliasing) will yield much better performance.

Unless you need some special mobo feature, that would be it.

In fact ignore first build. 770 in canada is too expensive anyway, those 360 stream processors are not worth it.

Then buy clip on mic like http://www.amazon.com/Zalman-Zm-Mic1-Sensitivity-Headphone-Microphone/dp/B00029MTMQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1392542396&sr=8-1&keywords=clip+on+mic

or better

http://www.amazon.com/Audio-Technica-ATR-3350-Omnidirectional-Condenser-Microphone/dp/B002HJ9PTO/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1392542396&sr=8-4&keywords=clip+on+mic

the combined cost of headphones + good mic( 3350) is 60$ and it blows away any headset on pcpartpicker in that range, you cant even get gamescom 780 for that money
and the quality of sound is much better.

Total for the build with mic: 940$

Please tell me if you are fine with build, is the price ok for you. You need something more? Do you want silent aftermarket cpu cooler? Do you want to get 4670k for overclocking ( higher price however )

you are paying 66$ for cpu cooler and an extra of 30$ bucks ( or more depend what mobo you compare it to) for better motherboard. thats 96$ exess money, you could put into a better processor. i think prioritiy is better processor here.

also headset is missing, a PSU is not the best for the money

well, 4670k if you want to overclock +23$ , and z87 mobo around +35$, and cpu cooler around +30$ out of my head. thats really minimal

all togheter around 100$ bucks just so you can overclock. you decide if its worth it.

you can get xeon 1230 v3 that has hyperthreading

and you dont need special mobo or cooler for it. around 50$ more than 4570, and 14$ more than 4670k

are you familiar how haswell overclocks and its temps/stability?

I just checked audio techica lavalier mic, and price rose 2 bucks. Is it because we look at it? :D just like plane tickets. if you look at it, they raise prices next time you come to look lol.

play around with pcpartpicker
