What I want to know if there is a difference between a normal 2.5 ssd or a M.2 ssd

the specs are almost the same and also the same price 

 

 

Kingston A400 120G Internal SSD M.2 2280 SA400M8/120G

PNY CS900 120GB 2.5” SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

 

is it the same? do I get any benefit?

Those are both sata ssds, so its just the form factor thats difference, speed would be the same. Basically do you want the drive mounted on your board or somewhere in your case.

ok so there is no difference after all is the same, it's just the way it connects

yea exactly the same performance.

 

Also both of those are very low end ssds, so you might want to try to get a better sd if you can.

No i'm trying to build a low end PC I dont have the budget to go any high, and also that system is going to run only 1 program and that's it
