So i am building a computer friend on the cheap, i am looking to keep it below $400 if not lower. This is just going to be a normal everyday computer, no gaming just everyday tasks.

So what do you guys think of using like a A10 5800k? Microcenter has them on sale for $100 and then the low end motherboards are about $50-$75. Now say going with a FX 4100 i can get one of those for about $70 and then about $75-$100 for a motherboard plus i gotta get a graphics card.

So what you guys think? Which one should i go for? Thanks!

AMD is nice and cheap! The 4 cores can take any future programs and could run excellently with anything even if it is an Every Day PC.

By everyday computing, what do you mean? As Bluejay said, AMD has really cheap processors that will do you fine, if by everyday computing you mean web browsing, spreadsheets, word documents, printing etc.

Also, AMD has good APU's so you won't need to get a dedicated graphics card, unless you plan on doing more than just everyday computing.

And so we meet again!

Yeah, email, spreadsheets, word documents, web browsing. Nothing special.

Which one would you guys recommend

The 5800k, as you said earlier, is a good choice: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819113280

Then just pickup a motherboard like this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130662

This power supply should suffice: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817182006

Here's a cheap case, nothing too fancy; but will do the job: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811147153

Good RAM choice: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231277

CD-ROM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827135204

250gb hdd: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136279

That comes to around $380 without shipping. Obviously you can choose to pick these up elsewhere. Keep in mind, this is without the operating system, if you don't already have a copy of Window 7 or any other operating system, you will need to purchase that also. An OEM copy of windows 7 is $100. If you want to upgrade your motherboard and such in the future, you will need to spend $200 for a full copy of windows 7. Those are just my recommendations, a lot of it could be changed to your needs; such as a bigger hard drive or more RAM if you wish.

Personally I would go for the APU. I built a system with one a couple weeks ago and it performs great!
