2060 super

Go to solution Solved by Tee86,

Why you wanna use VGA? As said above it's analog, unlike DVI. Use this:

AMAZON LINK

Hi guys got a question. Basically i got a brand new gigabyte 2060 super and very very old monitor (about 7 or more years old). Monitor only has Vga and dvi-d ports. When I try to connect monitor to 2060 super through hmdi-vga cable i get no output on screen. I get message on screen saying that no VGA cable is connected. Is there any way i can get my GPU working with this monitor without needing to buy new one. Maybe i should try buying dvi-d-HDMI cable or adapter. Thanks for your help

In my experience HDMI-DVI is a little more reliable, because they are both a digital connection.

But I'm also running a HDMI-VGA adapter on my 2070S, so it should also work for you I guess

Aghhh ok. Thanks for advice my friend. And pls dont judge me for stupid questions XD. Just dont want to throw another $200+ on another pc part. Thanks ❤️

EDIT: you are using adapter and i tried a cable. VGA on one side HDMI on another. Dont know if that makes any difference or not:shrug:

Yeah, I specifically mentioned an adapter, because some cables have either - frankly speaking - crap conversion or something they're a scam and don't do any conversion at all.

VGA is analog, HDMI is digital. That is not something a simple cable can convert.

In my opinion there aren't stupid questions, just questions asked in a weird way.

Your question was not stupid at all, don't worry about it! ?

Yes, that shall work.

But I wouldn't recommend it.

I would recommend you get a simple dvi to hdmi cable to connect to your monitor.
