Lighting node pro and other weird stuff

So I recently got a new case, 'corsair 680x', which comes with a lighting node pro and 4 fans (3 ll120 + 1 120 non rgb fan). The lighting node worked fine at first glance, but I didn't have enough pwm connectors, so I bought an additional splitter.

I installed the splitter and you guessed it, the entire pc broke the f down. I can't play games because it will just randomly lose all ethernet connection and then the screen will just freeze. Discord has the same issue but less frequently. My ll120 fans don' t light up anymore and the lighting node pro isn't detected by icue software either (they do spin though). The gpu usage tends to have major changes over time while idle(even yt vids get it to 70% for some reason) and disk usage for some reason as well. Windows will often just have a disgustingly long delay between action and what's being displayed and it's just unusable in general.

I have no clue whatsoever on what has caused this, how it happened or if these things are even related to eachother.

What did you plug into the splitter and what header on your motherboard did you plug it into? This should not cause the issues you are describing.

I plugged the 3 ll120's and the cpu cooler fan into the splitter and plugged the splitter into the cpu fan header since gigabyte claims it to be a universal standard.

check if theres a reset button on the node. click it with a pin if you can.

update firmware as soon as it is detected.

 

but seriously icue is so broken mine is broken rn and i cba to fix all my rgb is frozen and when i open it it crashes lol

As in a 4-pin PWM splitter? So 4 fans are connected to 1-splitter that is going to your CPU fan header, if so only plug the CPU fan into the PCU fan header, remove the others and plug them into a different system fan header and try again. I'm assuming the the RGB for the LL fans are connected to the Lighting Node Pro with the power connector and USB 2.0 connectors attached.

There is a reset button, but it's not really doing anything

iCUE can be a fickle b*tch that is for sure...

yes, that's correct. I've now plugged them in a different spot. The fans are lit now, but it's still not being detected even after pressing the reset button.

Mine has done that sometimes as well, double check your connections, next step is the annoying issues with iCUE, if issues persists I would uninstall iCue and re-install.

I've done about 5 times already but luck doesn't seem to be on my side.

So I've found the solution to the weird gpu usages, it was caused by radeon relive. That is solved now and I guess the lighting node is just an issue that will be solved later. So thanks for your help, but I think I could continue with what I have now based on what you've told me.

That's good, yeah random bloat-ware can cause problems in some PC's for no apparent reason. The iCUE one is annoying though, I had a 2-week period earlier this year where it did not detect my Node as well. Multiple re-installs, nothing did the trick, then one day it worked again, no changes made, and has ever since.

I guess corsair can step up their game when it comes to software.
