Advice on some upgrades :)

Hi guys,

I've listed my current specs below. I want to upgrade my board, CPU and RAM, just to future proof really. I originally bought those parts 2nd hand as I was on such a budget, and I just think it would be cool to move on now. I'm still on a budget, and I think I've worked out a couple of options here. Could you maybe advise me which option would be best please, bearing in mind I am planning to keep my GPU? I'm still on quite a budget but would like to buy these parts new. I will be running at 1080p on a 144Hz monitor. I've done some checks and I don't think either CPU should bottleneck the GPU too much...

 

Option 1:

Both those CPU's are a little out of my budget  the 3600 is more than the entire of option 2

neither of those are upgrades. the minimum you want to go for an upgrade is a ryzen 5 or 7 or a core i7

You're right, maybe I should have said "updates" instead of "upgrades". Do you think the two options I stated would be sensible with the existing RX 580?

 

The Ryzen 5 1600 is in my price range so I may look into that, thank you

i think those 2 options are downgrades from your current setup. i'd wait to get more money for a real upgrade/update.

Don't bother, save up and get something better.

You're not upgrading core count, and if you OC your current processor, you're unlikely to see much of a difference.
Also, using RAM that slow with Ryzen is a horrible idea.
