What is it with these laptops on ali baba being sold for such low prices? Is the quoted price the actual price or is it just used to engage possible buyers? Does anyone have any experience buying sutff from this website?

AliBaba is the parent company of AliExpress. Both websites are like 'marketplaces' for other stores to sell their products on.

AliBaba - as opposed to AliExpress - specializes in B2B (business to business) sales and will often have lower prices. In return though, warranty is not as simple as with the consumer oriented AliExpress. Often times the lower prices will only apply to people buying 100+ of the product.

So keep in mind those things when making your own deciison on whether or not you should buy from AliBaba.

P.S. do some research on the import laws in the country you live in. Often it's something like: you buy the product from overseas + 20% value of the item is added (as import fees) + handling/administration fees + VAT (however much that is where you live).

That can mean this good deal suddenly isn't as good of a deal anymore.
