Hi,

i decided to watercool Cpu and Gpu and do some overclock.

After all this i noticed that my GPU has really low temps...

I did a really cheap custom watercooling.

My GPU is running max at 39C!!!

Did anybody see something similar???

Is it something wrong?

My system is :

Amd ryzen7 2700 --> 4200MHz

XFX rx 580 --> 1560MHz - 2225MHz (GPU memory)

Msi b450 Tomahack max

I am going to guess your room temps are in the 22-28c range so fairly cool. Now what you have to remember is how the components are cooled. Your GPU for example is making direct die contact so it is able to transfer more heat away. It also uses a bigger die which has more surface area to make contact.

On the CPU you have the die making contact to an IHS with either solder or TIM in the middle and then another layer of TIM and finally the cpu block. That means it cannot move heat away as quickly and it is also not in direct contact with the CPU block which is significantly cooler than the IHS will be in that scenario. Then you also have the size difference. The die on a cpu is much smaller than that of a gpu so it has less surface area to make contact and transfer the heat to.

Well a benchmark that doesn’t tax both of them long enough or just one or the other that would be normal.
I do the same with my gpus. Even old inefficient keplers.

GPU temps look normal to me as do cpu temps.

My 1080ti overclocked doesn't break 42c
