MSI or GIGABYTE

Ozzy12

Hi, I have a question, which graphics card is better the MSI GTX 1660 Ti Armor OC 6GB or GIGABYTE GTX 1660 Ti Gaming OC 6GB.

I know the performance is basically the same and the price is the same, but I want to see your opinion on which should I buy.

I want to replace my rx 570 with a gtx 1660 ti and my CPU is a ryzen 3 2200g, I want to know if there will be any problems like bottleneck.

Thanks for Suggestions!

I am personally not a fan of MSI GPUs. The last two I had the thermal paste was not applied correctly, causing me to have to re-apply it on both cards, one of which was a 1660 Ti Ventus XS OC. Once the thermal paste was correctly applied, I had no issues, but I shouldn't have had to do that in the first place. Both myself and my coworkers have had great experiences with Gigabyte cards, my 2060S actually runs much cooler than I expected.

i recommend a 1660 super instead. it has similar performance to the 1660ti and it's cheaper.

So you recommend the GIGABYTE version?

The armor cards have always been mediocre at best... I agree the gigabyte option would be better (as well as looking nicer)

Edit: the msi gaming x does seem pretty nice though. Main thing is just don’t buy an armor card

Well, I have one more question it's ok to pair it with a ryzen 3 2200g.I mean there won't be any problems like bottleneck.

Get a saphire pulse 5600xt, superior performance for the same money. And brings 2 free games

In the UK both cost the same 250.

There shouldnt be any issues outside perhaps a couple of games where the CPU will hold it slightly back.
